Blue in the face
I performed a wedding ceremony for my friends Ben and Aimi today. I've known Ben for six years. Worked alongside him at the bookstore and arcade during the period I was working threee jobs. Aimi is a Japanese national studying here, and I've known her for four years (since the first week she arrived in the states). She and Ben have been dating for almost the entire time she's been in the States. They're such a cute couple... he's an easy-going musician-physicist and she's a communication's major. Anyhow, the wedding was quaint and quiet and lovely.
Of course, being one of two "single" men there (the other that's technically single has an on-and-off girlfriend) made it the pointed sign for everyone to ask me when I'm going to get married or where my lady is at. Several hours of this tends to make me a grumpy bear, though I did retain my composure until the drive home.
Every woman I've met that I have interest in is either a)in a relationship, b)uninterested in a relationship with me, or c)eight-billion light-years away. This stands true for the ex's as well... the ones who text, who call... but they're unavailable.
Is it so much to ask for a nerdy girl who "gets" me and my sense of humor? And if she tolerates my video game playing, that'd be a plus.

I love weddings but I also hate it for a similar reason that you described. I get the "poor girl" doesn't even have a boyfriend / husband at her age looks. I also hate being the only single person in photos... always the extra wheel. Call me the spare tire.
